Concentration 3

5 g of the salt ammonium sulphate (NH4)2SO4 are dissolved in 250 mL of water.
• State the complete reaction equation that describes this process. Indicate the respective aggregate states with the respective letters (s, l, g, aq).
• Calculate the molar concentration of ammonium ions c(NH42+) in the solution.

Only red cells need to be completed. In the reaction equation stoichiometric coefficients of 1 also need to be stated explicitely (despite the fact that these are usually not written in a reaction equation).

Reaction equation: (NH4)2SO4 (s) + H2O (l) → NH4+(aq) + SO42-(aq)
(NH4)2SO4 H2O NH4+ SO42-
